Development Process
2005 -2007
2005 to 2007 are three years of historical significance to Dalian Urban Planning and Design Research Institute. In 2005, the architectural design part was stripped from the planning part and a stock company was established. The planning part maintains was restructured into the new Dalian Urban Planning and Design Research Institute.
Dalian municipal government has strengthened the financial input to urban planning from 2005 to 2007. The institute shoulders most planning and design tasks of Dalian and fulfilled satisfactorily a number of key planning projects for the government based on our steady working style and diligent and creative team and has been awards by the province and city for many times.
While fulfilling key projects of the government, the institute also explores the market actively and provides excellent planning, design and technical consultancy services for developers and has established the good reputation in the industry.
2005-2007 Chronology
Jan. 2007: The institute was officially renamed as Dalian Urban Planning and Design Research Institute.
Dec. 2006: Appraised as the Advanced Unit for the party-related work.
Nov. 2006: Completed the soft science research project of ¡°Socialist New Rural Area Construction. Mode and Planning Research¡± sponsored by Ministry of Construction in cooperation with Nanjing University.
Aug. 2006: The plan of 14 provincial-level pilot villages shouldered by the institute passed the review.
Jun. 2006: Ministry of Construction entrusted the institute to compile ¡°Urban Green Belt Planning Standard¡±.
5 th Mar. 2006: Key planning project passed the review of Planning Expert Committee.
Nov. 2005: Established the Urban Design Institute.
Oct. 2005: The architectural design part completed the restructuring and a stock company was established.
Aug. 2005: Hosted successful China Urban Planning Institute Dean Annual Conference and Planning and Design Professional Committee Annual Conference.
Jul. 2005: Passed ISO9001: 2000 International Quality System Accreditation.

2001 - 2004
2001 to 2004 were four years of rapid growth for Dalian Urban Planning and Design Research Institute. Within above four years, the institute assumed the quality management system as the standard, took the technology as guidance and product quality and integrated service as the support, fulfilled reform and renovation and achieved apparent progress in expanding the market space and etc. As a result, the institute has enhanced its comprehensive strength greatly.
Meanwhile, the institute has adjusted the internal production and operation structure, clarified the relationship between responsibilities and benefits in the operation cycle, organized, deployed and arranged the production scientifically and reasonable and implemented the contractor responsibility system at technical and economical aspects with ¡°links between work and benefits¡± as the focus.

Sep. 2004: ¡°Dalian Urban Development Plan¡± passed the review.
Aug. 2004: ¡°Dalian Master Plan 2000¡± complied by the institute was approved by the State Council.
Dec. 2003: The institute was appraised as ¡°Liaoning Province Civilized Unit¡±.
Nov.2003: The institute was appraised as ¡°Liaoning Province Planning Compilation Advanced Unit¡±.
Apr. 2003: The institute hosted ¡°Building and International Metropolis and Dalian Urban Planning International Workshop¡±.
Dec.2003: Completed ¡°Dalian Urban Development Plan¡±.
Dec. 2003: Overcame the influence of ¡°SARS attack¡±, business income was steadily increased.

Since its establishment in 1984, Dalian Urban Planning and Design Research Institute has become gradually into the planning and design research organization with certain influence and reputation based on the diligence, enthusiasm and solid professional knowledge. The institute has obtained subsequently Level A qualifications for planning, construction, engineering consultation and project overall contracting.
Along with rapid growth of Dalian's urban construction, Dalian Urban Planning and Design Research Institute obtained plenty opportunities for practice and demonstration of its technical strength.
